Snip-a-dee-do-dah

By Elie - 6:30 AM

WARNING. Super self loving post ahead with my face plastered all over. Continue on if you love me. Or not. Just read it.

I got the idea for my title off this odd thing I read on clientsfromhell.net and it's one of the cutest thing to have to say out loud. You could put in just about any word in front and have the remaining "a-dee-do-dah" stuck to it. In this case, I've inserted the word "snip" to commemorate my haircut...after a whole year.

I've seriously forgotten the last time I took a good haircut so I scrolled through my Facebook profile pictures and found this picture dated 22 October 2012. Which means it's been close to a year since I've last had a proper haircut at the hairstylist's. Other times of which I hold up a piece of newspaper and mum trims my fringe is not included.

Do I really need to credit this photo? Do you not see my phone there?

I get bored with my hair quite easily actually but half the time I'm either too lazy to go and do anything with it or I just don't have the feeling to go and do it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE going to salons and have someone wash then blow dry my hair because it makes me feel like a princess. I also love how nice my hairstylist is because he always makes me look better if not super good. But it's the hassle of thinking what I'd like done to my hair next that turns me off so I just go ahead with the boring do and look the same all the time, except occasionally with a shorter fringe.

So last week I finally just got off my lazy bones then drove to Bangsar with my mum, aunts and grandmother so a few of us could get our hair cut. There was a part of me massively wondering if I really should cut my hair because I had already forgotten how long it took for my to keep it so long but another part told me that it was just time for a fresh, new change. I had no idea how I wanted it to be changed, I just knew I wanted something a little different. I was sick of looking at myself in the mirror!

Sick of seeing this face.

I walked in halfway when my aunt was getting HER haircut then sat down for the girl in the salon to wash my hair. I felt so luxurious but so wasteful at the same time because I had already washed my hair the night before. When the hairstylist was done with my aunt, I simply turned to him and said, "You can do whatever you want to my hair, my only criteria is that...I want to be able to tie it up. I'm not a big fan of feeling hot and sweaty. That's why I'm fat. No exercise." He smiled...and went trigger happy to chop off a whole lock of my hair.

The end results was fairly shocking to myself but it was a great start. Like a post-graduate reward to myself or something.

Do NOT be dissing my thighs. I'm trying hard to lose weight now.

Yeah. I've got a longer-than-bob haircut now but it requires good blow drying skills every night so I would look like the above. Other days when I'm lazy, I'd just pull a beanie over my head and it actually looks fairly well too. MY BEANIE CAN FINALLY BE USEFUL!

I got vain the same night I got my haircut.

And as you could see from my Riddick post, it was okay when I paired it off with a pair of shades. I'm pretty proud of my hair at this point and for some reason, I feel like giving myself a pat on my back for sticking to my hairstylist. He did make me look decent during NS after all. I SHOULD ALWAYS TRUST MY HAIRSTYLIST. Now if you're looking for a hairstylist, GO LOOK FOR MINE because he's really good! His name is Thomas and looks...like the dude above. (WTF DUH!)

Shameless and super close up shot. I look like I just woke up!

No, I was not sponsored or endorsed in any way to talk about their salon. I just had a good haircut, I fell in love with it and I wanted a reason to see more pictures of it yet at the same time I didn't want to appear so vain...so here you go. Good details for you to know where to get your hair done and I get to see more of my new do. Fair enough? They're really awesome by the way. Now you can go ahead and set your appointment and cut or style your hair now. Everyone needs fresh changes!
