The Thing With Dreams

By Elie - 5:55 AM

Aha, I love mindless blog posts. And when it's something I love on a space that truly belongs to me, I believe that it should always be shared. So what is today's mindless blog post about?

Dreams.

It's probably one of the things I talk about the most in my blog be it just about my ambition kind of dream or my sleep kind of dream. In fact if you don't remember, today's blog post is to talk about that weird dream I had last week.

Mum after reading the blog post: "Silly girl, I won't just abandon you on a bus!"

"I just wanted to make sure."

You see, I have a thing for knowing what my dreams mean because if it's in your head then surely it has to mean something. If you didn't already know, your daily life and thoughts can all affect what you dream about at night so it's likely if you're having a nightmare then you're having a tough time during your waking hours. Or something like that. My favourite site to look into is DreamMoods.com because it makes fair sense of dreams without sounding too ridiculous and they've got an extensive "dream dictionary" to put reason into your night escapades.

So in the dream there were elements such as mum, running, abandonment and a bus. It does seem quite funny when I think about it now especially when my mum doesn't really run and neither will she really just leave me alone on the bus to sleep as the driver shoves everyone off. I mean, she would rather I follow her to the toilet even when I didn't need to during our ride to Singapore.

"Silly girl, I won't just abandon you on a bus!"

Mother: To see your mother in your dream represents the nurturing aspect of your own character. Mothers offer shelter, comfort, life, guidance and protection.

Does this mean I am possibly someone who offers someone shelter, comfort, life, guidance and protection? You'll have to ask DreamMoods because I'm really the last person anyone should come to when it touches on these subjects. I can hardly guide myself.

Running: To dream that someone is running towards you refers to your willingness to confront any situation head on. You need to analyze the significance of what is running towards you.

I would actually think this is funny because then it would be a lot of the above said that is coming towards me. The seeking of guidance and what not, I mean. Aside to that however, it does say that if I am the one running away, I could be trying to avoid certain responsibilities. Irrelevant here but it could be something good to know in case I start going on a marathon in my dreams next time.

Abandonment: To dream that you are abandoned suggests that it is time to leave behind past feelings that are hindering your growth. Perhaps the dream is a metaphor that you need to approach life with "reckless abandonment" and live more freely.

This could just be about my job and lifestyle but I should probably talk about it some other time. It does make good sense to me right now though and maybe, just maybe...it could mean that there are underlying matters that needs to be looked into. Maybe.

Bus: To dream that you are riding a bus implies that you are going along with the crowd. You are lacking originality and control over where your life is taking.

Again, it could be about my job and lifestyle. The thing is, I don't even know if it should be considered that I am going along with a crowd or that I haven't got a place to go just yet so I'm just dealing with it. But really, I'll talk about it some other time. I just wanted to find out about my dream.

I tried drawing a dreamcatcher. I don't know if I've succeeded or failed.

I find dreams to be really interesting to be honest. It seems to always just take you on a ride and then leave you hanging and wondering if there is more to life than just what you're living. Which is why these blog posts exist. I should make a new label for it. Maybe I just will.

I never know how to properly end blog posts. But this one is wordy as is so I suppose a bye will do. Bye.
